The Process of Building a New Home

And if you’re not sure about the first steps on your journey to owning a custom-designed home, S2F is a great start, as there is no obligation to proceed. It’s a friendly chat that lays out the procedure for you, with your specific criteria in mind.
From Concept to Design
After walking you through the process and discovering your unique requirements, it’s time to put together a budget and a timeline. If these meet your needs, we’ll sign a preparation of plans agreement and get our award-winning designers to survey the site. After which, they’ll come up with a design based on our previous discussion.
After tweaking this and that, and coming up with a final design that absolutely thrills you, we’ll submit it on your behalf for Design Authority (DA) approval. We don’t sit on our laurels, though. While the shire processes this documentation, it’s time to meet our world-class interior designers.
This is one of the most exciting parts of the home building process. You will get to work with a designer to select:

At the end of the day, you’ll have a complete design which details your colours, materials, fittings and fixtures – everything you can imagine. The working drawings and engineers details will be Building Code compliant and will meet energy efficiency requirements too. With all of this together, a submission is made to the shire for a Building Licence.
From Scheduling to the Construction
Again, at Exclusive Residence, we don’t waste time. While the shire is busy with your paperwork, we’ll get to work on a schedule for your build. Before we sign a contract and you get your finance approval sorted, we’ll correlate all costs and put together a building timeline.
The building schedule will be presented to you in an easy to understand Gantt chart, which details the entire process. Once we’ve agreed on the way forward, we’ll sign a building contract and figure out a start date on site. We’ll also make sure this works with all contractors and suppliers.
From Construction to Completion
At this point, you can put up your feet and relax. With everything set in stone, there’s nothing further to do, and you can check on progress through your private online portal. This unique facility is provided through our website, where you can check weekly progress photos from anywhere you have an internet connection. You’ll also get regular updates from your building consultant so you know how things are going.
